Dr. Victoria R. VergaraDr. Vicky Vergara is originally from Newton, New Jersey. She received her Bachelors in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. After graduating, she earned a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She then spent two years working at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston as a research coordinator for the Division of Head and Neck Oncology. Dr. Vergara then went on to attend the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she was consistently named to the university’s Dean’s List. While in dental school, Dr. Vergara served as chair of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) Journal Club while also presiding as the chapter president for the American Association of Women Dentists. After graduating in 2018, she completed a one-year OMS internship at University Hospital - Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, prior to moving to Denver to begin her oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Denver Health Medical Center and the University of Colorado. She then moved to New York City to complete her residency and serve as chief resident at One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Vergara’s clinical interests include dental implant surgery, bone grafting techniques, dentoalveolar surgery, facial trauma, and the delivery of IV sedation. Dr. Vergara enjoys spending time exploring Ohio with her husband, Tyler, who is a fellow in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. |
