Dr. Gregory A. Rekos, D.D.S., M.S.

Board Certified Diplomate by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with special focus on stable, functional, esthetic outcomes through interdisciplinary communication.

Dr. Rekos is a native of West Virginia and attended East Carolina University, where he studied biology and received early admission to West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Dr. Rekos graduated at the top of his dental school class, and during his time at West Virginia University, received awards from both the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and The American Society for Geriatric Dentistry. He went on to complete a teaching fellowship at The Ohio State University School of Dentistry, overseeing young aspiring dentists.

In 2010, Dr. Rekos earned his Master’s degree after completing a four-year surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Ohio State University, and during his time he was privileged to be appointed as a registrar at St. James Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

Dr. Rekos practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including dental implant placement, third molar removal, extraction of teeth, other dentoalveolar surgery and pre-prosthetic surgery. Additionally he performs orthognathic surgery, manages facial fractures, oral pathology and jaw reconstruction. His interests include complex jaw and facial reconstruction surgery as well as the removal of wisdom teeth and insertion of dental implants. Dr. Rekos is also a team oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Dr. Rekos is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Academy of Osseointegration and The American Dental Association. He is currently affiliated with Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grant Medical Center and is a current team doctor for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Outside of the practice, Dr. Rekos enjoys playing soccer, hockey, clay shooting, skiing and rock climbing. He resides in Powell with his wife, Jennifer, who currently practices dentistry in Worthington.  The couple welcomed a baby girl in the Spring of 2013.
