What Your Oral Surgeon Can Do with Your Wisdom Teeth
Posted on 2/17/2018 by Kristine Conrad
When it comes to your wisdom teeth, having them removed is something that most everyone has to go through. This is a serious procedure a lot of times and the teeth will most likely have to be cut out in order to be removed. This is because the teeth usually become impacted into the gums of the mouth. When this happens, they can see a lot of rot and decay throughout the years. You do not want something like this to happen since it can mean the loss of your tooth. What Your Oral Surgeon Does with Your Wisdom Teeth Usually, when the back wisdom teeth are being removed, the surgeon will make a small cut around the gum line to remove the tooth from the bed it sits in. They then sew together the slits that they cut into the gums to help them heal. When the surgeon removes the teeth, they may ask you if you want to keep them and a lot of people opt to keep the teeth that they have removed. Most of the time, though, they place the teeth in a waste disposal of human waste to be taken care of. This will ensure that any blood and saliva is not mixed with other items that are thrown out. There is no use for the teeth, which is why they are discarded once they are removed from the mouth. If you need your wisdom teeth or other teeth removed, give us a call and our oral surgeon can provide you with more information on what needs to be done with your teeth. You can ensure that you have a healthier, better feeling smile overall when the back teeth are removed....
